CALGARY, ONTARIO

Perhaps the most famous comic book illustrator of all time, Todd McFarlane openly admits he was not a great artist but that he could be one who hides his shortcomings by drawing things differently. He opens up about making Spider-Man “cooler” and creating the Spawn character, the first African American character to headline an entire comic book company. He brainstormed Image Comics to be a collective that gave individual artists complete control over their intellectual property, empowering artists to be entrepreneurs with their creations.
